Introduction to the Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA)
The Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA) is a voluntary, non-profit association that represents operators of retirement homes in Ontario. ORCA is the “collective voice” of retirement operators across the Province. ORCA provides leadership in areas of education and training, support members to meet provincial regulations, adopt best practices and, through accreditation promote quality and excellence in areas of operations.
The ORCA Tutor
The ORCA tutor is a web-based staff training program for retirement residences. Retirement residences are legislated to meet provincial legislation and train staff on an annual basis to adhere to provincial requirements. The ORCA Tutor modules will provide training for staff on all the required modules and is currently being updated to reflect: Retirement Home Act 2010 (RHA); Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), Fire Safety Code, PHIPA (Privacy) and AODA (Accessibility Standards).
